Temple d'August (Mons Tàber)
Four intact 9-meter Corinthian columns of the 2,000-year-old Roman forum
Built in the 1st century BC during Emperor Augustus's reign as the central hexastyle temple of the Roman colony of Barcino, rediscovered in the 19th century.
Preserves four nine-meter Corinthian fluted columns with acanthus capitals inside the medieval courtyard of the Centre Excursionista on Carrer del Paradís.
A millstone embedded in the pavement outside marks the exact geological peak of Mons Tàber (16.9m above sea level), the highest point of Roman Barcino.
