Passeig de Gràcia
Aristocratic Modernista avenue featuring luxury boutiques and iconic palaces
Designed in Ildefons Cerdà's 1859 Eixample plan as the central boulevard connecting ancient Barcelona to the village of Gràcia, transformed by bourgeois industrialists in the 1900s.
Home to the famous 'Block of Discord' (Illa de la Discòrdia) featuring Casa Batlló, Casa Amatller, and Casa Lleó Morera, complemented by Pere Falqués's 1906 ceramic bench streetlamps.
The hexagonal sidewalk pavers (Panot Gaudí) with marine fossil reliefs were originally designed for Casa Batlló and later adopted for the entire avenue.
